When you’re juggling everything, how do you stay grounded?

Have you ever had one of those days where you’re doing everything… and floating through all of it?

Last Friday felt like that for me.

From a packed full-time job, to submitting a proposal during lunch, to a quick legal consult for my business setup, a podcast guest meeting, and a team call for my children’s charity — it was non-stop.

It felt like I was drifting from one thing to the next with barely a breath in between.

And in that blur, one thing struck me:
The only way I could keep moving was by staying grounded — even for a moment.

I mean the simplest stuff:

  • Noticing the weight of my feet on the floor.
  • Taking one conscious breath.
  • Watching my thoughts pass without chasing them.

That little pause — even just a minute or two — brought me back to earth. It let me float back up with more clarity.

Maybe for you it’s a walk with your dog.
A few pages of a novel.
Playing with your kids.
A text to a friend.
Or a breath before the next thing.

Whatever it is — don’t underestimate its power.
Your grounding practice doesn’t have to be big. It just has to be yours.

So here’s what I’d love to know:
What do you do to stay rooted when life gets wild?
Hit reply and tell me — I really want to hear.

Here's to finding our feet,
Tamara

What if Purpose is the Real Fountain of Youth? This week, I had the honour of sitting down for coffee with a dear friend—someone doing deeply courageous work behind enemy lines, rescuing girls and women from human trafficking. It was the kind of conversation that stays with you. One insight, in particular, keeps echoing in my heart: “I feel like I’m getting younger every day—because my life is filled with purpose.” Let that land for a moment. It is for me. This is dangerous, emotionally...

The Power of “What If” “What and if are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What… if?” — Sophie, from the movie Letters to Juliet These two words are deceptively simple. But together? They’re powerful—maybe even life-defining. Sophie, Letters to Juliet: “What if?” — the question that haunts or heals. What if… I lose my job? My plans don’t work out? I never get my business off the...

It’s all connected Truth be told, I’d be nowhere without connections. Not just professional contacts, but real relationships—the ones that expand your perspective, fuel your soul, and send you in a direction you couldn’t have imagined on your own. I’ve been reflecting today on three kinds of connections that have shaped my journey: Those who have selflessly made connections on my behalf Relationships that have sparked and grown beyond their original purpose The beautiful "dot-to-dot" magic...
