What if this changes everything?

The Power of “What If”

What and if are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What… if?
Sophie, from the movie Letters to Juliet

These two words are deceptively simple. But together? They’re powerful—maybe even life-defining.

What if…

  • I lose my job?
  • My plans don’t work out?
  • I never get my business off the ground?

What if…

  • Everything turns out better than I imagined?
  • I’m on the verge of something incredible?
  • The world is just waiting for what I have to give?

What if…

  • I don’t take this chance?
  • I do?
  • I’m not ready to take the next step?
  • I am?

One version of “what if” can stop us in our tracks—
It can quiet our confidence, shrink our dreams, and keep us from the very thing we’re meant to do.

But the other?
It can catapult us forward.
It can open doors.
It can lead to exactly where we’re meant to be—and to the people who need what only we can give.

So I’m asking myself today:
Which “what if” am I choosing?
And I’m asking you:
Which “what if” will you choose?

Because one may haunt you…
But the other might change everything.

To bold “what ifs,”

What if Purpose is the Real Fountain of Youth? This week, I had the honour of sitting down for coffee with a dear friend—someone doing deeply courageous work behind enemy lines, rescuing girls and women from human trafficking. It was the kind of conversation that stays with you. One insight, in particular, keeps echoing in my heart: “I feel like I’m getting younger every day—because my life is filled with purpose.” Let that land for a moment. It is for me. This is dangerous, emotionally...

It’s all connected Truth be told, I’d be nowhere without connections. Not just professional contacts, but real relationships—the ones that expand your perspective, fuel your soul, and send you in a direction you couldn’t have imagined on your own. I’ve been reflecting today on three kinds of connections that have shaped my journey: Those who have selflessly made connections on my behalf Relationships that have sparked and grown beyond their original purpose The beautiful "dot-to-dot" magic...

Maybe it's not about dreading Monday You’ve probably felt it — that quiet unease that creeps in on Sunday evening. We call it the Sunday Scaries, and it’s usually blamed on anxiety about the work week ahead. But here’s the thing: I love my work. The people, the purpose, the energy — it fills me up.So why does that feeling still arrive every Sunday night? The other day, my daughter said: “Maybe it’s not about work… maybe it’s about not having time for the other things you love.” That hit me in...
