Saying it out loud — and stepping fully into what's next

This is me manifesting. ✨

Last week, I shared about the importance of tending to different paths in our lives — that we don’t have to nurture them all at once, but that each one deserves our care when its season arrives.

Well, this is the season for one of the biggest dreams I’ve carried in my heart. And today, I’m saying it out loud. Because I believe — truly, with every cell of my being — that once we give voice to something, we breathe life into it. And from there, all we need to do is keep putting one foot in front of the other.

When I first started down this path, my dream was to create retreats for women seeking their “what’s next” — those who are ready to weave purpose and meaning into the next chapter of their lives. I envisioned a space where women could gather, reflect, reimagine, and step boldly into a life that makes them leap out of bed each morning, ready to squeeze every drop of juice from the day.

Then, something shifted. When I shared my retreat plans with my dear friend Ishani — who was preparing to move to the Philippines to support survivors of human trafficking — she asked me if I would bring this work there. Without hesitation, I said yes. It felt right then, and it still does now.

That “yes” led me to co-create the upcoming Uprooting Trafficking virtual series, happening exactly one month from today. It pushed me to register my business, step into new spaces, and say yes to opportunities I never saw coming.

This isn’t just something I talk about — it’s something I carry with me, quite literally, everywhere I go.

Each action I’ve taken — no matter how small — has been pointing me toward the work I’m meant to do next.

And now, it’s leading me to the next chapter:

🌱 Creating and facilitating trauma-aware retreats — both for survivors of human trafficking rebuilding their lives and for the frontline workers who walk beside them. These retreats will bring together everything I’ve learned — my coaching and wellness practices, my decades of experience in the for-profit, public, and nonprofit sectors — and channel it into something that can create real change and healing.

I have everything I need — except I can’t do this alone. I’ll need partners. I’ll need survivor voices guiding the way. I’ll need courage, grit, and maybe even a gentle push through the door. At 62, this isn’t a time for endless planning. It’s a time for doing.

So I’m putting this vision into the world — because once we speak something aloud, we become accountable to it. It becomes real.

🌿 If this work speaks to you — whether as a survivor, a frontline worker, a potential partner, or simply someone who wants to support this mission — I’d love to hear from you. Hit reply and let’s start a conversation. And if you haven’t yet, you can also register for the free Uprooting Trafficking series here.

Now, I’ll turn the question to you:

💭 What’s sitting quietly in your heart that you haven’t spoken aloud yet?
💭 What dream or calling is ready to be said — even if it’s only whispered into the mirror?

Say it. Out loud. Today. And then watch how the universe starts rearranging itself to meet you.

Here’s to saying it out loud — and stepping into what’s next.

Warmly and with resolve,
Tamara

Steady in Purpose Before the first session begins, I want to take a moment to simply be here. This morning, I’m choosing to pause. To ground myself in the purpose of this series — and in the gratitude I feel for how it has come together. Here, in this moment. Breathing. Grateful. Tonight, we begin Uprooting Trafficking, a three-part series created to: Raise awareness of human trafficking and sexual exploitation Support understanding of the healing journey for survivors And help people take...

Not All Growth Reaches Up Yesterday, I stopped to admire my friend Robin’s euonymus tree — its branches weaving outward in every direction, steady and full of life. Some paths grow upward. Others grow outward — grounded, connected, and full of purpose. It reminded me how not every kind of growth reaches up. Some of it spreads out — toward new ideas, new people, new ways of being. That’s what a multi-path career feels like to me: growth through connection, creativity, and curiosity rather than...

This weekend is Thanksgiving in Canada, and I can’t help but pause in gratitude. Thanksgiving 2015 — a moment of gratitude for the paths that intertwine to shape a meaningful life. I’m thankful for the obvious blessings — family, health, and the chance to live in this vast, beautiful country that changes with each season: from lilacs in bloom to the hum of cicadas, to harvest leaves and the hush of first snowfall. Beyond those blessings, I’m especially grateful for the chance to do work that...
